Collections

The Museum holds over 5,000 objects in the object collection. These objects are exhibited for the public to enjoy today and also preserved for future generations. Most objects in the collection belonged to or were created by Hall of Fame Honorees. Other objects document the history of women of the West from early pioneers to the cowgirl’s portrayal in popular culture. Highlights of the collection include Annie Oakley’s wedding ring and gun, Dale Evans’s Bohlin saddle, and Nudie Cohn designed clothing and saddle.

The Museum is dedicated to collecting objects relating to Hall of Fame Honorees and other women of the West. The majority of objects in the collection were donated by the public. Without these donations, it would be impossible for the Museum to preserve and interpret the history of the cowgirl and the western lifestyle.
