Ollie Osborn

1896-1989OregonInducted 1982

Ollie Osborn was a talented relay racer and bronc rider. Born to Oregon homestead ranchers, she learned to ride horses from her brothers. Inspired by C. B. Irwin’s daughters relay racing at the Pendleton Round-Up in 1908, she began competing. At the age of sixteen, Osborn won the relay at Pendleton in 1912. She discovered bronc riding and made a name for herself by riding “slick,” without hobbles, like the men. Remembered for her daring rides and beautifully tailor-made clothes, she continued to rodeo until 1932.
