Lulu Bell Parr, an independent and spirited Wild West performer, thrilled audiences all across the world during her reign as the “Champion Lady Bucking Horse Rider of the World.” She rode in some of the most famous Wild West shows of the last century. She became famous for her bronc riding skills but demonstrated other talents such as trick riding, sharp shooting and buffalo riding. During her reign as “Champion Lady Bucking Horse Rider of the World,” Parr received top billing for her performances and was known for her flamboyant outfits, which she usually made herself. After her death, the Medway Area Historical Society erected a monument to mark Parr’s resting place in Medway, Ohio.
