A rider from early on, Jerry Ann Portwood Taylor’s skill on a horse carried her far from her hometown of Seymour, Texas. Her trick riding and roping landed her jobs as a Pangburn Candy Girl, work with Tex Ritter in England and performances with Gene Autry’s rodeo. Known for her flamboyant style of riding and dressing, Taylor traveled the county in her trademark convertible Cadillac with matching horse trailer.
