Hope Varner

1917-2013TexasInducted 1988

Born in Milwaukee, Hope Varner always felt the lure of the West. With her husband, Tex, she spent her life promoting Western life. A talented musician and singer, Varner hosted a radio show and directed a working guest ranch. She passed stories and songs of the West to thousands of children and adults, and in addition taught horsemanship to many. Hope and her family produced rodeos (co-produced 1955 GRA rodeo) and Wild West shows at their own arena.
