Traveling Trunk

Our Traveling Trunk can be used before or after a Museum visit, or as part of your curriculum to encourage students to learn about our national and international Cowgirl Honorees, their relationship with the horse, and their independence that helped shape the West.

What’s Included

The trunk contains objects, a teacher resource guide, lesson plans, literacy tips, and a curated collection of books written for a variety of reading levels. The trunk can be checked out for a two-week period on a first-come, first-served basis with a completed request form and $25 refundable deposit.

Request Submission:

Trunks may be checked out by teachers, homeschool groups, libraries, and other educational programs. Borrowers are responsible for picking up and returning the trunk to the Museum. Trunks are TEKS aligned. Include 2-3 preferred checkout dates. We will do our best to honor your first choice but cannot guarantee availability.

Interested in a single-day program instead of two weeks? Consider scheduling a School Outreach Program instead where Hannah Wilson, Education Outreach Manager, will come and “teach the trunk.” For more information, email or call Hannah at 817-509-8989 or email [email protected]
